I’m planning a video of my hamster and I need windows movie maker to blend lots of clips together and also add music. But whenever I select digital camera videos for movie maker, it says it is not a supported file type and such. The rest was a confusing blend of letters and numbers and another sentence I don’t remember. I can use a cam corder if I want, but my digital camera is so much easier, my dad rarely lets me use his camcorder. I can put my digital camera photos on there, but not videos, what do I do?

I have a freeview box with lots of films stored on it taking up lots of space – is there any way to transfer them onto a laptop? The box has a usb socket on the front.

you could try a usb to usb cable and see if your laptop reads the freeview box as a portable device, if it doesnt you might need the appropriate software from the makers of the box in order to transfer files from box to laptop.

do you have the user manual?

Its just a small Ferguson one, but I used the socket to watch a dvd last night and now put the aerial back in and cant even get the guide to get the channels back! The green light comes on but nothing else? Please help, Im sure its something simple.
But I tried that and cant even get the menu up that I can say get more channels to?

Switch off at the socket and unplug it for 5 minutes then plug it back in and switch on. check all the coaxials are connected properly first.

And check it’s on the right channel on your tv!

A message appears and tells us that there is a poor signal and most channels fragment even though we have freeview in the tv. what is the point of buying a digital hd ready tv when you cannot watch it.

improve the tv signal.
what you are experiencing is a symptom of poor / insufficient signal on the aerial

so that means a new aerial or a better installed aerial. it may improve as your area switches off the analogue signal.. I think the digital signal will then be boosted.

a signal amplifier may make a marginal difference, i doubt it.

reduce the number fo devices connected on the same aeriel cable.. the fewer the better

mind you there’s not a lot of point in buying an HD tv for freeview channles, I think there may be 2, possibly 4 HD channels max on freeview, unless the government releases more radio spectrum back to TV broadcasting

Can I replace my TV aerial with a freesat dish, connecting the old coax cable to the dish and using freesat boxes instead of digiboxes throughout the house? Does each coax cable run have to be individually connected to the dish, or can u have one cable with splitters coming off it (for different rooms) ? Thanks

1. Yes you could change from aerial to dish
2. You would have to change coax as it is a different type
3 You could use splitters (but you would not have control of your channels in other rooms unless you have a box on the end)
4 If you install a dish which must be fitted correctly (the dish has 4 outlets
6 You can use splitters from your aerial to your digi boxes as well

I don’t know what bandwidth you’d need as I’m not technically minded in that way, but you could try a website I know called sopcast. They carry TV shows from all around the world, not just sports, but all kinds of stuff.
